Meylo Rodriguez – HopCast June 1, 2011

I hate to start this on a downer but on Friday, May 27, 2001 we lost a great poet and recording artist. As tribute to his great work, I decided to piece together some of the tracks that speak loudly and perhaps may help give insight to who he really was. Gil Scott-Heron you will be greatly missed.

Dj Profile

meylo

A native of deep South Texas just miles away from the Mexican border, Meylo’s musical experiences date back to the summer of 1986 when he DJed a friend’s birthday party. By 1991 he was mixing records at night clubs and raves and DJing gigs as large as Lalapalooza. In 2007 he moved to Austin to further his career as an interactive designer, and that’s where he teamed up with his long time buddy Jose. Together they launched HopSonic Radio. Meylo’s musical tastes range from Singer/Songwriter, Folk and Country to Funk, Nu-soul, and of course, House.
