Thank the heavens, it finally cooled down a bit. Man I swear, it was a ruthless Summer. So whatcha got planned for Fall? Any travel plans? What’s your Halloween costume? How did the job interview go? Did you charmed them? Wait, what are we talking about again?

I’m glad to back on the Hopcast. Summer for me was full of travel, and with travel comes music discovery so I have a slew of music…. I kinda went over by a few minutes but what the hey… it’s Autumn!!! Enjoy!

Cheers to the mile high,
Let me first start by saying that Denver knows how to party!!! I don’t know how you guys function with your green lifestyle and such big beers. It was a hefty challenge for this dude from Texas. But all in all, the Denver Summer weather was amazing… Highs in the 80s and lows in the 50s at night. Up in The Rockies, it was a gusty 55 degrees at 13,000 feet above sea level during the day. Loveland Pass is BEEEEEAAAAUUUUTIFULLLLL!!!!

Flying into Denver was a little rough but no big deal. Denver International Airport is gorgeous, designed to copy the peaks and valleys of The Rock Mountains. If you ever layover at DIA, please have a cabby take you about 1/2 mile away to see the structure from a far(pictured below.)

We hit the ground running… Falling Rock Tap House, The Hornet Restaurant, and Tommyknocker Brewery are just a few of the great places to buy local brews only available in the state. One place I really wanted to visit was Odell Brewing Company in Fort Collins but we just couldn’t make it out there in time. Oh btw, Odell’s IPA(available on tap and bottle all over Colorado) has to be the best IPA I have ever tasted. More about that in a separate blog.

And now the real reason for this blog post, the music. Steven is a great DJ for so many reasons. Mainly I say this based on track selection and his ability to seamlessly beatmatch, showing no limit or favoritism to any specific genre. It was a pleasure having him on the show and look forward to doing it again next year… hopefully with a bigger production budget. Also, big ups to Michael Gonzales and Steven Kuzma for all your technical expertise.

Another great night at Roosevelt’s at 7 in McAllen, Texas. Seems like the Wytchmaker Rye IPA’s kept flowing.. OUCH! So glad Roosie’s was able to swing a few kegs from one of Austin’s newer brewerys, Jester King. If you haven’t had a chance to try their beers, please stop what ever it is you’re doing and go find some ASAP(only on tap.)

Hey my peeps, Meylo here with another Wednesday musical adventure. Just a heads up, you’re going to start seeing and hearing some progressive changes with HopSonic. Its has begun. You may have noticed Jose has his own show on Thursday nights and Hopsonic DJs Mario Salinas and Amir Esmaeili are soon to follow with their own show as well. I’d also like to welcome Guadalupe Rocha into the circle of HopSonic DJs. Guadalupe lives in Houston and his musical taste is beyond HopSonic worthy so look out for him too.

I had a great week producing the show on my own. I’m pretty happy how it turned out. It’ll only get better from here. Thanks again for all the support.
