Mission, Texas has a knack for cultivating grapefruits and exporting weirdness. Amir (aka Kid Citrus) came up as a metal and electronica enthusiast in the Rio Grande Valley. In 2009, he played his first DJ set at an open-turntables night at the (now defunct) Creekside Lounge in Austin, Texas. Inspired by the resurgent sounds of disco and funk laid down by the other selectors that evening, he has since made a mission of bringing the soulful sounds of house to a new generation groove seekers. Amir joined the HopSonic team as a guest DJ in 2010 and is a regular contributor to our live sessions. His mixes are a confluence of post-disco, neo-soul, and tech-house.
